What Browser am I using?

Many of the problems seen on web pages are specific to certain browsers (even specific versions of those browsers). So when you’re reporting a problem you see on a web page you should know the browser name and version that you are using.

Go to WhatBrowser.org

Or follow these instructions

On a mac

  1. When you have your browser open, click on the pulldown menu that says the name of the browser. If it is Safari for instance, you’d click the menu on the top left corner of your screen that says Safari.
  2. You would then go to the item that says ‘About Safari’. This should bring up the version number you are using.

On a Windows Personal Computer

  1. While your browser is open, click on the word Help in the menu. Then click on About. The window that opens up will show both the browser name and the current version that you are using.
